Divorce review tips: what clerks look for

In spite of countless efforts to improve the divorce review process by making divorce documents easier to file and be reviewed by the clerks, it continues to be a rather detailed process.

When clerks are reviewing a file, they are mainly looking for inconsistencies or inaccuracies in the information. This is a short list of what clerks diligently look for in a divorce package:

  • Parties’ names
  • The children’s names and birth of date
  • Date of marriage and Separation date
  • Type of custody and Access Arrangement
  • Child Support amounts
